Therapist Accountability in Work with Children

New Zealand · CPD points & talks · Psychologists

Speech Therapist, Tali Frankel, emphasises the importances of accountability of therapists specifically in paediatric treatment and the need for parents to remain informed regarding their child's treatment. This includes the need for information to consistently be shared about the patient's goals, aims and outcomes as well as feedback after every therapy session. As an Occupational Therapist, this served as a great reminder for me! We need to remember children are part of a much bigger social ecosystem and their parents should be aware of the treatment they are receiving and why at all times. If you are interested in Tali's detailed discussion about the assessment and treatment of Phonological Disorders, you can check it out here. - Tegan
